USATF Level I Coaches Education School
The success of a national sports program depends greatly on the contribution made by professionally trained coaches. With this in mind USA Track and Field has established a comprehensive program of coaching education that structures and professionalizes coaching development in a systematic manner. This program standardizes coaching levels across the country and moves the sport in a positive direction for the benefit of all its athletes.
The school is designed to give coaches a basic understanding of coaching methods involved in Track and Field events. Level I school covers all events in an elementary manner, emphasizing rules and teaching progressions and introducing general fundamentals. Certification at Level I prepares one to coach all events at the junior age group, club, junior high school or high school level.
